Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt.2

It was an EPIC and beautiful end. You have to see it on the big screen to truly appreciate the beauty, because it surrounds you, the magic *__*
OMG- let me gush to you the beauty of the soundtrack!

Lily's Theme
It's so haunting and fitting for the opening of the end of a saga. I think it's also appropriate they named this Lily's Theme, because it was her love that saved Harry, and it's the song that plays while he ends Voldemort (Voldemort's End @1:40). It's beautiful. And a piece of it reminds me of LOTR (Pippin's song), whose soundtrack I also love.

Severus and Lily
When I was reading the books, Snape's unrequited love for Lily never really jumped off the page until this point in the movie. It was really well translated and I could sympathize with him, and this finally endeared the pairing to me.

I'm glad they left out some of the memories where Snape was being passive aggressive!jealous and being mean to Lily, because in the end, it doesn't matter, because he loved her more than anything. He was willing to risk his life with Voldemort, and that speaks volumes. Great way to redeem and end the character.

The most memorable scene for me was when the professors went to the different corners of Hogwarts and started casting protection spells across the school ground and it formed this beautiful, living, net of magic, and the music accompanying it, Statues, gave me chills.

A New Beginning
I loved that this was sprinkled with bits of xylophone that is close to Harry Potter's theme. This song, coupled with the slow zooming out of the trio, is beautiful. The sun and light is hitting their faces just right, and it's really peaceful.
As I reread the book's ending, I had hoped that they would add the scene where Harry repairs his own wand with the Elder Wand and then destroys it, but the movie's ending was truly the best I could hope for.

And I was SO looking forward to seeing the epilogue, and it was really great. I enjoyed it, and the aging was well done, that I couldn't even tell that they had done anything to age them. The kids are adorable, especially Albus! And the last fade out on the trio ♥

Other things:
+ Neville/Luna!!! So glad they included that ^^
+ Ron/Hermione's kiss. Some say it's abrupt, but I kind of saw that coming. I knew it had to happen sometime in the movie, and what a great way to add it in, just as they destroyed a Horcrux. A triumphant kiss :)

+ McGonagall's take over and Harry emerging from the crowd. There was so much friendship and loyalty in this movie that made me so giddy.
+ I'm still uncertain whether I wanted to see Fred die on or off screen, but the scene was emotional and T_T
+ I really don't think Voldemort's end was anti-climatic. It was quiet and not all like 'bam!bam!bam!' but it had a certain air to it, like, finally, it's over. And I think the music was a big factor (for me at least) in making it work the way it is.

And now, I'm perusing through the 'Harry Potter' tag on Tumblr, because you can find a lot of wonderful things there ^^
Also, is it me, or have you been finding yourself slipping into a British accent? ;)
