Ok, I'm SO tired of looking at articles related to Alfred Alder right now, so I'm taking a break.
I've noticed how little I've posted this year and I'm thinking it has something to do with Twitter. It helps me release my fangirling in short bursts and the people who usually read my entries are on that tlist, so I don't feel the need to reiterate it here. However, it's somewhat of a problem now, since some of my flist doesn't have Twitter or go on there often. So, if it's SQUEE-worthy enough to be mentioned more than once, you'll see it ;)

I just finished watching My Girlfriend is a Gumiho/Nine-Tailed Fox and it was super addicting. One night, I was in search of something fluffy to watch on YouTube, just a fanvid, some shippy goodness, when I decided I would check out scenes for this drama. I knew it had a good ending since I read up on it a few months ago, and I found this beautiful song and it totally caught my eyes (and ears).

I won't tell you too much about the story, but it's basically about Dae Woong's relationship with Mi Ho, the mystical creature that is the 9-tailed fox. At first, he's afraid of her and finds her a burden, but you know how it goes ;) There's this other guy, Dr. Dong Ju, who helps Mi Ho transition into the human world...but he has motives of his own, tehhe.

I thought here was some unnecessary angst thrown into the plot, but otherwise, it was superb! It seems convoluted at times, but not confusing -it just takes time to reveal the facts and there are quite a few parties involved who like to complicate the matter.
There's always that drama that you can't stop watching and I think this is one of them. Sometimes I wonder if it loses its added value of anticipation when you marathon, but it's also a testament to its effectiveness in story-telling and drawing the audience in :)

I was a little surprised that the show didn't attempt to pair Mi Ho up with the doctor since there is a potential plotline for that, but it wouldn't have been true to Mi Ho's character if they did. I find it refreshing that they didn't resort to that kind of angst, though it exists with other characters. I think the boundaries between characters were set up really well. The supporting cast also had decent development and resolution, so it's a solid piece.

My favorite parts in this drama were:
+ If it rains during a sunny day, you know Mi Ho's crying.
+ Director Ban and his Chow Yun Fat 'action' look XD
+ Director Ban and the developing relationship with Aunty Cha. They are the best subplot ever!
+ The fact that Mi Ho outwardly wants to jump Dae Woong ^^
+ Dae Woong's unwavering devotion to Mi Ho towards the end.
+ The sequence Byeung Su thought up where Dong Ju and Dae Woong run away together. And the one about being siblings fighting for revenge, lol, typical drama stuff XD
+ Dong Ju trying not to repeat the past, but in the end finds out that this time, it's different.
+ When Grandma asks Dong Ju if it was better to hear "sorry" or "thank you," and the realization that goes along with that :)

I have to admit, kdramas produce a lot of great OSTs. So many great insert songs! :DDD
I especially love "I Love You From Now On" by the adorable Lee Seung Gi (Dae Woong) and how he just belts "saranghae." I'm so glad he's playing someone less stoic, because I wanted him to smile more in Shining Inheritance.
Him and Sin Min A have the cutest dimples on their faces! I first saw and fell in love with her in the movie, Kitchen, and if anyone were to play a gumiho, she definitely fit the role :)

The most surprising cast member for me was No Min Woo, because when I looked him up, I could not believe my eyes. See for yourself:

"Rose," former drummer of Trax --> current member of a band called 24/7 and really hot actor XD
But, I do believe he's kept some of his rocker soul, he's a helluva sexy drummer, though to be honest, when I first saw this video, it creeped me out a little. Who knows what kind of person he really is if he can transform so drastically, ya know? Even if it is a stage persona O_o

I've pretty much been splurging on kdramas lately and I've even started to think about learning Korean...so this is going to be a problem XD
