It's been a good 'Summer' season :)

So, with this past drama season in mind, there were some pretty great ones like "Buzzer Beat," "Orthros no Inu," and "Koishite Akuma." I started off with a couple, but it dwindled down to these three:)

Anyways, I finally got to finishing OnI and let me just say that, despite it not turning out to be as epic as I'd originally hoped, I'm extremely delighted and in awe of the ending. It's just so beautifully done, right down to the cinematography:D
I know some bits of it were overly dramatic or wanting to give that 'happy-ending' feeling, but I honestly left that drama feeling happy, hopeful, and in love with this story:)"

Gosh, the ending was just so appropriate!! The last scene was so poetic!
Like...finally, we think there's going to be a showdown of the Godhand vs. the Devilhand, but there is this beautiful understanding between the brothers. The setting sun, the view from the bridge, Ryo was gorgeous. He was in pain, and the acting was phenomenal, and that made him gorgeous ^^



Omg, when Ryuzaki was like 'Kill me, little brother,' and Ryousuke tries to lift his arm but he can't, half because he's in pain physically, but it also shows that he's struggling so much emotionally, and it was just LDSKFJA;LDSJGALKJH gorgeous!
And when Ryuzaki heals Ryo, he says Aniki in such a pained way that I instantly fell in love with him all over again ^^

Why is it that he's so great at these angsty roles? I love him for it.

I love it when Ryo uses his powers ^^ The production team did a good job with the FX :)

I'm glad he finally took matters into his own hands ;)

Ryuzaki and Ryousuke were telling each other not to use their powers, but in the end, they use it on each other. In turn, it sort of cancels each other out. It's like Ryo understands that he wasn't born to kill his older brother, he was born to save him by taking the power away. He feels like his power is gone (a year after the incident), because the power given to him has done its job. I thought that was pretty cool.

And not to mention, the lovely, lovely messages the show has generated. I think what I really love in particular was Ryuzaki's scene with the kids in the hospital. These kids, they could have been healed, but they keep passing on this gift to another person they think should get healed; they don't hog the power. And Ryuzaki's amazed, because he's never seen anyone refuse or defer his power to someone else. It's the little things that really get at your heart :)
I know I cried when I realized that this was probably the first time Ryuzaki didn't feel used or needing to manipulate others; he was a normal guy for a few moments. He still healed those sick kids, but it was the scene that really touched me.
Overall, I think it also taught us that it's not the power that matters, it's how you use it:)

And I love that in almost any J-drama, they will have the bad guy redeeming himself. For example, Hikaru (Masaru) bowing down to the Shirakawa family. And then Masaru resolving issues with his dad, and the corrupt Prime Minister who saw the children being charitable and seeing that it's the little things that build its way up and can change the world:)
It's ok to be small in this world, it's what makes us human.
