lol, um, I'll consider part 1 as Halfway and part 2 as Otomen :P
I've been steadily marathoning through the movies Okada has been in and I plan on watching A Pierrot and Tennen Kokekko after this.
Honokaa Boy
When I first saw the trailer, I really had no idea that I would be going on an Okada-watching spree, lol, so it wasn't as if I picked the movie because he was in it. I had a feeling that this movie was going to reflect on the beauty of the mundane and slow lives in Honokaa, Hawaii, and I was somewhat right. The movie was rather slow-paced, but every step of the way, there is something to keep you interested, like just random things you’ll see around town. And the characters are so well written and highlighted that you won't be bored for too long ;)
There’s this particular old lady named Bee and as she was walking by this sleeping guy whose arm had a cast, she took out a pen from her purse and made a drawing of a poop on it XD

There’s this old guy who is really into porn magazines, but he’s not a creeper at all. He jokes around with Leo (Okada) and he’s like, “there’s nothing you can’t do, just because you’re old.” Haha! :P
And if you pay attention, there are little words of advice for how to live life, like ‘the film strip needs slack, just like people.’ Ordinary dialogue turns into something more, I feel.
he hale kino ka; the body is merely a house for words and feelings~
As you learn more about the characters and grow to appreciate how their loves are so interwoven, you really get into it :)
SPOILER ALERT!!!
There is one thing I will say without explanation, because it was just really pretty and poetic:
One night, she woke up and could see again. She got up and cooked, as quietly as I’ve ever seen anyone cook, and the next morning, you hear a brief itekimasu, and she’s gone. I cried buckets!
Bee and Leo had created their own telephone line; cute ^^

I am hooked on this song!!! It's got a nice beat and the intro piano bits remind me of Dana Glovers "Thinking Over" :)
It's from the 魔法使いに大切なこと/Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto/Someday's Dreamers movie's OST :D
That was the other Okada movie I watched (in one night XD) and OMG, the particular scene with the dolphins just moved me to tears.
I don't know what it was. Maybe it was the two characters slowly bonding coupled with the music, but somehow, the mages gathered on the beach, hands ready to push the dolphins back to sea, that combined image was just so inspirational to me ♥♥♥
I am dying for someone to sub this, because no matter if I can get the gist of the movie, I want to know what they are saying. Something simple yet profound could have been said and I would miss it, lol. You have no idea how many hours I spent looking for softsubs, but I'm grateful I got to see the movie at all ^^
I absolutely love the concept behind this movie. The love story was short, but cute :) I want to know more behind this universe so I've started watching the anime, but I don't know, it's not the same...
In any case, that is my spiel for today :Dv
