owaranai_natsuNEWS has been a huge source of happiness and encouragement for me, whether it was 6 years ago when I first discovered them, or 5 years ago when I started a new journey, or just this past summer when I was feeling down about my job situation. NEWS lyrics helped me to calm down and keep trekking through. So this is a post kind of for me to put it all out there, lyrics that really speak to me when I need a little push. This is also in celebration of their anniversary. NEWS, thank you for existing, fighting for it, and bringing the joy back to us ♥

This last chorus in particular is beautiful when performed, because NEWS actually extends their arm out to the audience, and I really do feel like they are pushing me forward.
Also, in the behind the scenes of UtsuKon, I was really happy that Tegoshi gave a shout-out to fans who weren't able to make it, but that they should continue to work hard until they could. And it didn't give me the vibe he was saying that we live for their concerts only, but that we should work hard, and even if we can't make it, they'll still be thinking of us.
I don't know if I'm phrasing this in a way that makes sense, but it made me feel as if they really care if their music is helping us have better days ^^

Before I learned what the lyrics meant for "ano hi ni jibun ni keritsukero," I used to think they were saying, "Become better than the person who cried that day." So mostly, I got motivation from that line, even when I know that meaning in my head isn't the right one xD

Of course, there are also obvious choices like Gan Gan Ganbatte, Fighting Man, and CRY, but these aren't as readily moving to me than the ones I've listed :)
As we've reached this landmark year, now only with four members, I can’t help but think that this was what NEWS was meant to be. Even though we went through a lot as a fandom because of the trials and tribulations the group went through, and not to say that 6 or 9!nin NEWS wasn’t amazing, but I think the core of NEWS is Koyama, Tegoshi, Massu, and Shige. Yamapi and Ryo had their own things –NEWS wasn’t really it for them, but I think 4!nin, before they were considered 4!nin, loved NEWS more than anything. And while the same could be said about Tegoshi and Massu having Tegomass as a back-up plan, knowing how Tegoshi and Massu felt about NEWS through their emotions, I know they cherish NEWS.
I really don’t know when my mind switched perspectives. In the beginning, perhaps I was in shock, and just wanted things to go back to the way they were, but now, I haven’t really been able to follow Yamapi and Ryo. It’s weird, because I’ll always associate them with leaving NEWS. And it’s not like I won’t ever love them again, but right now, it’s just, I’m supporting 4!nin NEWS fully, so ex-members are taking a back burner ^^ And yea, maybe I’m a little bitter, but the NEWS now seems much happier, more relaxed, more natural, and more fun than I’ve ever seen them.
Also, Tegoshi’s translated comment below really fueled my love for NEWS as they are now:
I don't want to hear "I loved 6-members NEWS", it's frustrating to know that somebody might want us to go back to what we were. If somebody thinks that for real it's because our power is not enough yet, it means we have to work harder and harder. NEWS is a 4-members group. From now on it will always be like this.
